Ben Sira 18:30-32

Self-Control[a]
30 Do not let your passions be your guide,(A)
but keep your desires in check.
31 If you allow yourself to satisfy your passions,
they will make you the laughingstock of your enemies.
32 Take no pleasure in too much luxury
which brings on poverty redoubled.
